Overview

About this equipment

When you need high pressure from a small footprint, a vertical multistage pump is usually the right pick. Stacking several impellers on one vertical shaft builds pressure stage by stage, so one compact pump can feed an RO plant, boost water to the top floor of a tower or supply a boiler. Sigma Process Controls supplies vertical multistage pumps for water supply, RO, boiler feed and process duty, with sizing, installation support and AMC across Tamil Nadu.

How a vertical multistage pump works

Water enters at the base and passes through a series of impellers and diffusers stacked on a vertical shaft. Each stage adds pressure. The number of stages sets the total head, so the same pump family covers a wide pressure range. Inlet and outlet sit in line at the base, making the pump easy to fit into existing pipework.

Applications

RO plant high-pressure feed, including textile ZLD plants
Water pressure boosting for apartments, hotels, hospitals and factories
Hydropneumatic and constant-pressure systems
Boiler feed for small and medium boilers
Treated water reuse and transfer in STPs and ETPs
Washing, CIP and process water in food and dairy plants
Cooling water circulation and fire-fighting jockey duty

Vertical or horizontal multistage?

Vertical multistage pumps save floor space and suit in-line installation. Horizontal multistage pumps are easier to service at higher flows and are often preferred for large boiler feed duty. We recommend the right one after checking your flow, head and plant layout.

Talk to our team about your application.
Price depends on flow, head, number of stages, MOC and motor. Send your duty point and liquid details for a quote.
A stainless steel vertical multistage pump is the most common choice for RO high-pressure feed. We size it to your membrane pressure and recovery.
Yes, within the rated temperature of the model and seal. Share your water temperature and we’ll select the right version.
Common causes are worn impellers, air in the suction, a partially closed valve or wrong rotation. Our troubleshooting team can help.
