Overview

About this equipment

A ring blower, also called a side channel or regenerative blower, delivers clean, oil-free air at low pressure with almost no maintenance. It is compact, quiet and runs directly on its motor shaft, so there are no belts, gears or oil to look after. Sigma Process Controls supplies ring blowers for small STPs, aquaculture, packaging, drying and vacuum handling across Tamil Nadu.

How a ring blower works

An impeller with many small blades is mounted directly on the motor shaft and spins inside a ring-shaped channel. As it turns, air is flung outward by the blades and then drawn back in again, many times over, gaining pressure with each pass. This regenerative action builds pressure or vacuum smoothly, without pulsation and without any oil in the air path.

Installation and service

Ring blowers are simple to install: mount, connect the piping with a suitable filter and relief valve, and wire the motor. We advise on filters, silencers and relief valves to protect the blower, and support you with spares such as bearings and impellers and with troubleshooting if performance drops.

Ring blowers are generally lower in cost than Roots blowers for small duties. Price depends on flow, pressure, stages and motor. Share your requirement for a quote.
Yes, for small STPs with shallow tanks and low air demand. Larger or deeper plants need a Roots blower.
No. A ring blower has no oil in the air path or gearbox. Only the motor bearings need periodic attention.
