That works when the replacement is like-for-like, but it often leads to oversized, undersized or unsuitable equipment on new installations.
We prefer to work backwards from the application: what is being moved, how much of it, against what resistance, at what temperature, for how many hours a day, and in what environment. That approach reduces the risk of specification mismatch and the operating problems that follow from it.

Sigma Process Controls was set up to work the other way round. We ask what is being moved, how much of it, against what resistance and in what environment — and then recommend equipment that fits those conditions, even when it is not the easiest item for us to supply.
